Tooling and Tool Design
Quality tooling is essential in providing consistent parts to our customers. All jobs are carefully reviewed in the planning stage to ensure the manufacture of consistent parts. At V&S we work closely with our mold makers and our customers to design molds that will meet cycle life and part requirements. We proudly stand behind all aluminum tools for 100,000 cycles, and steel tooling is easily built as well.
A Wide Range of Tool Design and Engineering Capabilities
- Experience
- We have over 25 years experience in the injection mold-making business. This expertise is shared with the customer as molding feasibility and cost drivers can be quickly recognized and discussed which means added value and savings to every project.
- Product Development
- We can walk the customer through the injection mold-making process from concept (i.e. a prototype part), or print through to the finished mold stage. We specialize in short-run aluminum tooling, P-20 steel molds, and Class "A" molds, depending on customer requirements for the project.
- Inspection
- We use a variety of inspection equipment including a Brown and Sharpe digital height guage and a surface plate rated "AA" to a 1000 pound load to ensure the accuracy of every mold built. As a rule, all "shut-offs" are guaranteed to a tolerance of .0003.
- Fully-Equipped Toolroom
- A fully-equipped tool-room is available for customer mold making needs with machinery such as 3-axis CNC and EDM.
- Electronic Files
- Do you want to email us a print? Just convert it to an IGES file and send it our way. The latest software will be used to analyze our customers' files and get the project going as quickly as possible.
- Prototype Parts and Machining
- At V&S we can also produce single machined prototype parts from aluminum or plastic. We can also handle your short run machining projects.
